I am happy to be contacted for any assistance you think I can provide throughout this ordeal and would prefer to be contacted initially through yourselves for this purpose. Best Regards, Jill (surname removed) 22nd August 2006 (Address Removed) Blackmans Bay Tasmania 7052 To Whom It May Concern, Dr Ulhas Lad has been my personal and family Doctor since 1993. He has helped me through many personal crises and health related situations during this time. Dr Lad has also been extensively involved with my family’s health needs. I have five adult children, who are now aged between 24 and 38 and have all been cared for by Dr Lad at various times since their family practice moved to Blackmans Bay in the late 1980’s. My young grandchildren have also seen Dr Lad on varying occasions. At all times historically my children and I have been completely satisfied with the ongoing care, advice and direction given by Dr Lad, and his wife Dr Geeta Lad. Doctors, like most health professionals, are always at risk of being placed in discriminate situations and situations whereby simple actions or words are misread or misjudged by those involved. Doctor’s are fully aware of this and also their ability to jeopardise their professional situation. Our society is supposedly ruled by the “innocent until proven guilty” rule – and yet, not in this case. Dr Lad has been silenced, unable to defend himself and had his reputation destroyed by media sensationalism even before his chance for detail is heard, even before a verdict has been given. The damage to Doctor Lad and his family is paramount. In our society it is unforgivable that a person can be flaunted across the media, degraded by those who have not a clue, and labelled so cruelly even before a verdict has been reached. It is an outrage that the current course of our justice system allows for what has happened to Dr Lad to occur. Ulhas, Geeta and their family have my best wishes for gaining a positive outcome from the current situation. Yours Sincerely, Jill (surname removed) |
